How we plan a large renovation
- Walk the house. We look at every area you want changed and what sits behind it.
- Set the scope and the order. We decide what happens first so that no finished work is damaged by later work.
- Choose materials early. Long-lead items are ordered before the schedule depends on them.
- Build in phases. Rough work, drywall, finishes, then final details.
- Walk it with you. We go through the finished work together before we call it done.
Living in the house during a renovation
Some homeowners move out, and many stay. If you stay, phasing the work room by room keeps part of the house usable. Kitchens are the most disruptive, so a temporary cooking setup helps. We talk through the plan with you before work starts so you know what to expect.
